Johnson’s artwork, which has the energy of rolling thunder and the colors of a sunset, and with an engaging sense of drama and urgency. —Kirkus Reviews
What does your art say about you?
Is art a part of your life? Of course it is! Does a painting of a beautiful landscape transport you to a special place and time? If it does, then we share something in common.
When you display art in your home, you’re showing your unique, discriminating taste. Giving an unforgettable painting as a gift (to someone special who may be hard to buy for) strikes an emotional chord that no other gift can. A quality oil painting is not only an heirloom but a lasting treasure that will be handed down from generation to generation.
I’m Layne Johnson and I’ve been painting since I was 12 years old. I love painting, and for me, the best paintings often tell a story. In fact, for 15 years I painted art for more than 20 books for children – winning numerous accolades and a handful of awards. One of my books even won the Western Heritage Award from The National Cowboy Western & Heritage Museum.
How cool is that?
These days I work in my dream studio in the heart of the East Texas piney woods, creating fine art oil paintings, specializing in representational landscapes and portraits. I love capturing those special moments and unique memories for very special clients.
When I don’t have paint on my hands, I also love getting my hands dirty in my very special garden, herding the chickens and building cool artsy outdoor stuff.
Join me! Let’s take a magical journey together!
