Welcome! Glad you’re here!

Thank you for tapping my Instagram link and checking out my home on the web! With so many followers on Instagram (over 32,000 at last check!), I wanted a way to connect more directly with those of you who love my artwork. And in case you didn’t know, Instagram doesn’t actually show you all my posts, so this is the best way to stay in touch.

Now that you’re here, I’d love to connect with you so I’ve put together a little tour down below. But first, I have a gift for you – a free art wallpaper – the first of monthly art downloads that I send exclusively to my subscribers. Leave your info and you’ll get your first one right away, delivered straight to your inbox.

I’ll also send you a video tour of my studio in a few days. Be sure to leave your info above so I know where to send it.

Thanks again for stopping by!  Before you leave, scroll on down for your first virtual tour.

Painting the clouds

My Texas art studio

After a lifetime working and living in one of the largest US cities, my studio is now located in the heart of the east Texas woodlands. (Yes, my part of Texas is heavily forested – we love our tall trees!) I feel much closer to nature now, where I’m surrounded by inspiration and beauty every day. Since I primarily paint Texas landscapes, that’s very appropriate, don’t you think?

I want you to feel like you could walk right into one of my paintings and explore. Put your toes in the cool water or walk through the wildflowers. Wander down the path and around the bend to see what’s just out of sight. Hear the birdsong and the rolling thunder in the distance. Take a deep breath and relax into the moment…

A little about what I do

I help my clients and collectors create an atmosphere of peace and calm. Working out of my studio in east Texas, I create luminous paintings inspired by the beauty of nature.

I also love sharing and connecting with other artists around the world on Instagram. For a little about my career, my art, and my love of Instagram, be sure to check out the interview in Art Aesthetics Magazine.

My hope is my art speaks to you in some way – lifts you up, brings you peace, brings you joy, makes you feel MORE, or transports you to another time or place – again and again.

Where you can find my art

My art hangs in private and corporate collections and is on thousands of bookshelves. I exhibit my work in galleries and partner with interior designers and art consultants to connect with clients needing artwork.

I also sell my one-of-a-kind, original paintings directly here on my website and I enjoy creating custom commissioned paintings for my collectors. In addition, for select paintings, I offer giclée prints on canvas.

If you’re a designer, a gallerist or interested in chatting about a collaboration, drop me a note over here.  I’d love to talk.

“Totally awesome!  Love, love, love your studio. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to more.” —PW

“Johnson’s artwork, which has the energy of rolling thunder and the colors of a sunset,
and with an engaging sense of drama and urgency…”

“Thank you for preserving this beautiful landscape that is so quickly being chipped away by development.
I cherish all the memories of our trips to Round Mountain, Marble Falls, and Llano before my husband passed away.
Your paintings are like illustrations of those memories.”  —AJ
